Eatingdisorders.gather.com is a website devoted to managing an eating disorder. Whether you have an eating disorder or are dealing with someone who has an eating disorder, this forum is designed to help find solutions to a very difficult problem. I am recovering bulimic and annorexic. I have had more than 20 years being eating-disorder free. It can be done, and although I will always be 'fat' in my own mind, I know that I am actually not fat...and that I am okay. I have helped many people recover from this disease and have been a sounding board for many parents struggling to help their children out of this horrendous maze of thinness. This is an obsession, but it's a sign of depression. Look at this not as a crisis but as a way that your loved one is trying to communicate their great despair, even if she cannot put that despair into words.
